Baystate Wildlife has been removing squirrels from our customers' homes for years. We use only time tested techniques and experienced technicians to handle your problem.

Squirrels have 2 litters per year and can have several young in each litter. Squirrel families can cause damage, noise and odor in attic space if not treated promptly. Grey squirrels typically leave their nest at sunrise and make quite a bit of noise. They will return several times during the day and finally return for the evening at dusk. Flying squirrels are nocturnal and particularly busy at night. Signs of squirrel presence may include insulation on the roof or lawn, gnawing or chewing marks on wood trim or slats, strange scratching or running noises at dawn and dusk, or small black droppings in the attic.

Our technicians will determine the best course of action for removal of the squirrels. This can include trapping, exclusion and trimming or removal of nearby trees.

  • Trapping squirrels is an effective way to control the squirrels in your attic or home; however, depending on the number of squirrels it can take several days or weeks to remove them all. Also, there still remains the squirrel's entry point into the attic. This hole needs to be closed only after all the squirrels are removed. This is necesary as to not trap any squirrels in your house for the smell would be significant.
  • Squirrel exclusion is the process by which a technician installs a one-way squirrrel door that allows the squirrels to exit the home and does not allow them re-entry. This one-way door is the most effective way we have found to ensure that all squirrels leave the nest and are not trapped inside to die. Some homes may require several one-way doors so the cost of the exclusion can vary quite a bit. The cost of exclusion also depends on the size of the home, the height of the squirrel entry points, and the number of points they use. Our inspection will fully inform you of all the necesary work needed and the asociated costs.
  • Tree trimming and removal has become an integral part of our squirrel removal system. Grey squirrels and flying squirrels use trees and tree branches as their primary mode of access to your home's roof line and gutters. Squirrels will leap and climb onto any home they can access by trees and will eventually construct a hole in your house just as they do in trees. Our tree trimming and removal system will eliminate the presence of squirrels from the vulnerable points of your roof and gutter areas. All tree work is done by certified arborists with years of experience and know-how. You will be impressed by their ability and workmanship. We take special care to leave a clean work site behind and can accomodate any special requests for your trees you may have.
